Can you imagine biking the legendary Route of the Seven Lakes? You can do it by yourself in just 3 days. And if you want to spend some more days in the area, you’ll be able to discover hidden scenic wonders. It’s not necessary to be an expert. We have the bike and equipment you need:
Panniers, rear carriers, back lights, maps, tools and minor spare parts, cyclocomputers and all the advice you request. We also share a few of our secrets. Yes, but just a few... :-)
If needed, in the city center you can rent a tent, a sleeping bag, even a portable cooker to make your trip “autonomous”, either on your own or with a group of friends. You can come back by bus with the bike, return the bike at your destination or we can pick you up. You probably won’t take all you luggage with you: don’ worry, we can keep it for you. And if you are not planning to return to Bariloche, we can send it to you.
This is because we share the place with Hostel Cordillera, if you rent a Bike for a minimum of 3 days, you’ll get a discount to stay night before your departure.
Sure that the Route of the Seven Lakes is not the only possibility. With our bikes you can cross the Andes, discover the Patagonian Steppe or head towards the end of the world… you won’t be the first to arrive in Calafate with one of our bikes!!
You dream it, we’ll help your dream roll and become a reality!
Some food for thought:
One of the key aspects that defines our trips is where to spend the night: if you’re planning to take a tent, it’ll be cheaper, your luggage will be heavier, you’ll travel more slowly, and you’ll need more time to cover the same distance. If you choose to stay in hotels, you’ll be able to travel farther each day but your travel expenses will be higher. Besides, if you do it during high season you’ll need to book a place in advance and you’ll have to arrive at your destination that same day. That is to say, although you’ll probably lose some of your flexibility, you’ll enjoy a good night’s sleep!
What do I take? Well, THE LESS, THE BETTER, you will be in charge of moving the load, so every gram counts. For instance, clothes: do not take heavy winter clothes or baggy pants. Consider wearing “layers” of clothes which you can combine -a wind and water proof jackets are a must. Day/night temperature range is usually big. Even in the summer, Patagonian nights can be cold (below cero). Also, avoid taking things “just in case”.
Another consideration: HYDRATING: over this area there are countless streams of clean and fresh water. Better still, take your own water purification system. The simplest of all: chlorine drops. In this way, you won’t have to carry large amounts of water (and burden!!).
Leave comfort behind for another trip, but not safety. A basic first-aid kit and high-factor sun cream can make a difference! Sun glasses: yes or yes.
Don’t forget your lucky amulet… but only if it’s small and light!!!
Fee depends on the equipment and service required. Some examples that may help you estimate cost:
If you rent a fully equipped bike for a minimum of 4 days, you’ll get a discount on renting accessories (off season only). If it is for fewer days or you just need the accessories, check our price list. See Fee Chart >
